An important outside-the-Park voice

June 17, 2013

We’ll join the chorus of state Adirondack Park Agency commissioners in publicly praising and thanking Cecil Wray for his service to the Park, the state and the people in his 14 years on the APA board....

Concerned, even those of us who live outside the park, but in NYS help pay for it. We should have a voice. LifeisGood, what industry did he force out?

Philly, I was sitting right there, didn't see that at all. Another great exaggeration on your part. Agreed he was the only other possible no vote. The others were all Yes before the hearing even started.

Loved it when Cecil voted yes for the ACR. Dick Booth turned white as a ghost and almost fell out of his chair. One of those great moments in Adirondack history!

Or maybe they're should not BE an ITProber in the PARK.

Some common sense with park regs would be helpful but abolishing Park status and we will end up like Alberta is now. Looking at 1000 acres of forever dead land. Will that make you happy prober? Maybe they can put a Walmart in the middle of the desolation.

Will you have a similar editorial for outgoing commissioner Frank Mazzano. That title should be "An important inside-the-Park voice." Don Dew Jr.

Thank you, Mr. Wray, for speaking for the few instead of the many. For keeping industry out of the Park, oppressing an entire population of people who work and live here. For pushing educated people out, but keeping/bringing state sponsored, dead end socialism in. For causing economic damage to the businesses that used to thrive here. Oh yes!BRAVO Mr. Wray. You should be very proud of yourself!

Speaking of the AH (Adirondack Health), has anyone else caught on to Mr. Urban's guest commentary in regard to the upcomong closure of the LP ER? Their 90 day suspension of decision is all smoke and mirrors. They have already made their decision to close. They also admit that not doing so will place the entire business into insolvency. Who's to blame? I don't know if it has been a plethora of poor business decisions, poor management, poor board leadership, changing economic times, paradigm changes etc...... or parts of all. Bottom line is Mr. Urban and his board are already prepared for the closure. Are we????

Does anyone outside the SLCSD decide their fate? or anyone outside of ORDA decide their fate? or AH (former AMC) decide their fate? or anyone outside all the local shore/lake owner associations decide their fate? No, no, no and no! That's not a closed society, it's local representation making decisions based upon local knowledge, not political figure-heads that sit and look 'pretty' while deciding individuals fate w/ no real knowledge and/or perspective. That's America my friends.

The role of people outside the park should be confined to providing thousands of jobs through the prisons, Sunmount and the DEC. Other than that, we don't need no stinking flatlanders!

So, in essence, noone from outside the "park" should have any voice about affairs in the "park", is that correct? this is a closed society?
