I am surprised Protect the Adirondacks hasn't filed a lawsuit yet. Probably just waiting for the permits to be approved then file an Article 78.

People who live in the Adirondack Park recognize that they do not "live here the same as people live all over New York." Indeed, many of us count on it not to be the same. It is what attracted us to the area in the first place.

TownsandTrails: Good point, but what about the rest of that last paragraph?

I agree with Peter Crowley's editorial. The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. Many commuters travel between Malone, St Regis area and Tupper Lake/Saranac Lake. Many more than most "towny's" know about. The Hamlets including areas like Dickenson, Mountain View, Owls Head and Duane (the 80 foot tower only covers Duane Proper)need the same amount of service and coverage as Saranac/Tupper. This is a new age, and there must be upgrades to satisfy the requirements of our new society.

Hopefully everywhere will be covered soon - at least by 3G. I'm skeptical 4G will ever be around here, despite what Verizon says.

Ya know as I was driving into work this morning, I noticed that there is electrical line work being done between Tupper Lake and Lake Clear. Now Why are there telephone poles to begin with? Are those poles and line not consistent with Forever Wild? Why are there paved roads? why are there villages? Please answer these questions, as it serves to say that with all these things but NOT high Cell Towers, its a RICH MAN'S PLAYGROUND AT THE BEHEST OF THE APA.
