LAKE PLACID — Two-time Olympic medalist Bill Demong got married Sunday to Katie Koczynski at the Crowne Plaza Resort and Golf Club in Lake Placid. Demong, a Vermontville native who now lives in Park City, Utah, won an Olympic gold medal in the nordic combined large hill competition and a silver in the nordic combined team relay at the Vancouver Olympics. Demong, a four-time Olympian, proposed to Koczynski in Whistler shortly after winning the gold medal. Demong’s mother, Helen, will marry Joe McPhillips on Saturday in their backyard on Osgood Pond in Paul Smiths. Helen Demong noted that Bill and Katie’s wedding at the Crowne Plaza Golf House was in view of his home ski jumps.
