Pataki opposes Cuomo's abortion proposal

February 22, 2013 - Chris Morris
I've been reporting in recent weeks on Gov. Andrew Cuomo's call to enact the Reproductive Health Act. You can check out my story on the Senate's version of the bill here; I also reported about locals attending the recent March for Life, and today we've got a story about North Country lawmakers who want Cuomo to keep abortion legislation separate from a larger Women's Equality Act.

Today, former Gov. George Pataki called for lawmakers to reject Cuomo's abortion bill:

"I don't think it should be controversial," Pataki told Newsmax TV. "It should just be rejected. This is partial birth abortion . . . It is the wrong thing to do and I hope that the legislature in its wisdom takes a hard look at this and decides that New York should not."

Also, according to the pro-life Chiaroscuro Foundation, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee is expected to address Cuomo's proposal on his radio show later today.

Pataki is a conservative now? After racking up $30 billion in NY debt during his term?
