EB-5 program helps VT ski area

February 6, 2013 - Jessica Collier
Here's a story from WPTZ on the EB-5 program that ACR developers were/are hoping to take advantage of.

The program lets foreigners who want to invest money into a local project get easier access into the U.S. The North Country got a regional designation a few years ago, but it wasn't the specific one that Franklin County wanted to focus exclusively on tourism.

At the time, Franklin County legislators said they were hoping the ACR could still participate in the program despite it having less of a tourism focus.

(I'd link to an old story on it, but the ADE's search function on our website is not working right now.)

I haven't checked in in a while to see if this is still in the works or not. I should do that sometime soon.

Jay Peak has had great success with the program, as you can read in the WPTZ story. The ski slope in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont has added "stylish new hotels, brand new indoor waterpark, and regulation ice hockey facilities."
