Stec gets state police union endorsement

Dan Stec, the Republican, Conservative and Independence party candidate in the race for New York's new 114th Assembly District, has received an endorsement from the New York State Troops Police Benevolent Association.

Stec, supervisor of the town of Queensbury and chairman of the Warren County Board of Supervisors, is running against Glens Falls attorney Dennis Tarantino, who will be on the Democratic and Working Families party lines in the Nov. 6 election. They're both running to replace Assemblywoman Teresa Sayward, R-Willsboro, who will retire at the end of the year.

The PBA includes more than 6,000 active and retired state troopers. Here's the rest of the release issued by Stec's campaign:

"The State Troopers PBA believes Dan Stec will work hard to ensure we have a state budget that balances the state's existing resources with the need to grow and prosper. Dan Stec understands that economic development and new jobs are keys to improving the state's fiscal health, and will focus on these important issues," said a statement released by the State Troopers PBA. "Our state troopers put their lives on the line for us every day, and I will work side-by-side with them to make sure our state gives these brave officers the tools they need to be effective in their duties keeping us safe," said Stec. "I am thankful for the work of our state troopers and am honored to have their confidence and endorsement in my race for Assembly."
