Sirk leaves Doheny camp, joins Bisso

August 15, 2012 - Chris Morris
Alicia Sirk, longtime deputy campaign manager/director of campaign operations for Republican congressional candidate Matt Doheny, has left the Doheny camp.

Sirk is now campaign chair for Assembly candidate Karen Bisso, who has secured the Conservative Party line in this fall's election and hopes to win a Sept. 13 Republican primary.

This news is somewhat significant because Sirk has been with the Doheny team since 2010, when he lost narrowly to U.S. Rep. Bill Owens, D-Plattsburgh. In an email to her colleagues, Sirk wrote that there were "many reasons" for her departure from the Doheny camp, although she didn't disclose any specifics.

Sirk called Bisso a "viable and dedicated candidate" and one of the "hardest working candidates" she's even seen.
