Bisso to receive first "major" endorsement

August 15, 2012 - Chris Morris
Assembly candidate Karen Bisso will receive what's being billed as her "first local major endorsement" during a press conference on Thursday.

Bisso hopes to secure the Republican line in the race for New York's new 115th Assembly District. To do that, she'll need to best incumbent Assemblywoman Janet Duprey and Cadyville businessman David Kimmel in the Sept. 13 Republican primary.

Bisso has been busy traveling the district, which includes all of Clinton and Franklin counties and five towns in St. Lawrence County.

"I'm the kind of candidate that believes that the Standard, to which elected officials should be judged, is not based on personal accolades or financial rewards. It should be evident in the success of the people they represent," Bisso said in a prepared statement. "When you meet me, you'll find that I am what I say, I do what I promise, and I stand up for what I believe in. More than ever, that is just what New Yorkers need."

Thursday's press conference will start at 4 p.m. at McSweeney's in Plattsburgh.
