NRCC: Owens policies hurt college grads

My previous post had the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee zeroing in on U.S. Rep. Chris Gibson, R-Kinderhook. So here's what the National Republican Congressional Committee is saying about Gibson's Democratic colleague, Plattsburgh Democrat Bill Owens -- it's important to note that Owens wasn't in office when Congress voted for the stimulus bill:

As President Obama begins his tour of college campuses across the country this week, Bill Owens and his fellow Washington Democrats’ failed economic policies will remain the dominant issue. Owens' massive stimulus spending and borrowing spree is hurting young people who will be forced to pay its price tag down the road. Clearly Owens and his fellow Democrats have particularly failed young Americans with their harmful big-government policies. “Bill Owens supports his fellow Washington Democrats’ massive stimulus package, which essentially stifled economic recovery for millions of young people looking for jobs and asked them to bear the burden of that government debt,” said NRCC Communications Director Paul Lindsay. “Young voters will have to be wary of Owens since they will continue to be burdened by the failed Democrat economic policies he has championed.”

Owens faces several challengers in New York's new 21st Congressional District: two Republicans, Matt Doheny of Watertown and Kellie Greene of Sackets Harbor, and one Green Party candidate, Donald Hassig of Colton.

The NRCC release also cites a study by the Associated Press which claims that young Americans are having a tough time in the "Obama economy."
