| | Foxman and Lawson argue for price projectionsJanuary 27, 2012 - Jessica CollierThere I was, thinking I had absolutely nothing to write on the blog today. Silly me, of course there's something to write! In today's paper, we have this letter to the editor from Mike Foxman and Tom Lawson. They're making the point that Foxman made to me for the story I wrote on APA decision day, but they're going into a little (lot) more detail about all the variables that could affect the pricing for their planned units. They argue that you can't compare the ACR units to comparable ones sold in Franklin County, because there haven't been comparable ones sold in Franklin County — five-star resort units, top-quality building materials and all that. They also accuse "lobbyists" who oppose the project of trying to discourage prospective homebuyers and investors by questioning the saleability of houses and condos in the resort. I wonder where this commentary was when the viability of the resort was the topic of conversation (and much more in question) during the adjudicatory hearing. I'm not sure why he's trying to make it sound like those people are just now starting to talk about those topics — they've been talking about that stuff for quite a while. PhillyrocksJan-29-12 7:56 AM I think it would be foolish for the developers to engage in some type of price fixe beyond the first phase. They have been smart to stay away from that highly speculative conversation in getting approval. I'm hopeful some of the ski ins will be affordable to someone in the service industry like myself, in the $200K range. We'll see. Where's my crystal ball? LoveTheColdJan-28-12 9:37 PM the shills behind the eco freaks, the ones that can get you and extra 5 feet on a variance. carpet baggers never had honor, to bad they do not go west anymore tlersiwhJan-28-12 2:12 PM Jess, who the heck are these "lobbyists" Foxman is referring to? LoveTheColdJan-28-12 10:48 AM And what realy stinks is most of these ass voids come up here with a cause. I've heard them flat out say If you have imurture "kids have them register to vote here so we can get what we want" and most of them worked in ny then retired and went south. the votes should go with the residance, if your Irish you can own land here but you can't vote for obuma yup out there... LoveTheColdJan-28-12 10:36 AM because for me I "live" in one of these fiascoes. And heres what happens - you have 10 guys on the water and 30 that do not have dock rights. first you make freinds with some of the people behind you, you let them use a dock. then for one thing others are like what about me. then you don't like this guy anymore. then you go to the homeowners meeting and your kid is a pain. And then the lawyer/liar term comes out. then the guy that borrowed your dock comes back hammered and some busy body calls the cops. are you people that ... bjccd5Jan-28-12 9:46 AM Why are you still ranting on the potential 'saleability'? They havn't gone through eight years of all this B.S. thinking lots won't sell. Markets rebound. If you build it, they will come! To the scale that's proposed? Stay tuned! Sit back and reap the local short term benefits of this project. Long term???...... Crystal ball is all fogged up from the recent 30+ degree weather in January. LoveTheColdJan-27-12 9:35 PM no offence but around here waterfront sells. they may be able to make that launch by phone work (it's a first around here), if not ... by the way skiing starts in vt and ends in co & ut, location location location. best of luck, Post a Comment | in: News, Blogs & Events Web |
