Things getting heated

April 29, 2011 - Jessica Collier
Judge O'Connell seems a little frustrated this morning with the many objections and procedural issues the hearing is running into. Attorneys and parties have been objecting frequently to things like details that don't seem very consequential.

O'Connell just took a very abrupt five-minute break. When he came back, someone made an objection after a tiny bit of cross-examination, and O'Connell took the hearing off the record for a moment.

"Please take a deep breath; relax,” O'Connell said.

He said he appreciates everyone being passionate about the issues and the attorneys being strong advocates for their parties, but he's concerned about keeping to the schedule for the hearing..

"It’s been a long week," he said. "We need to get through this today. I would appreciate your cooperation. Thank you.

"Let’s focus on the topic at hand, please.”
