John Whelan Jr.

March 16, 2011 - Jessica Collier
Been in TL since 1960

Was a junior in high school at the time - Mercurio brought back those memories

listened to Melissa McManus talk about the grants the Revitalization group is trying to achieve- Tupper Lake kind of relies on grants for improvements - what happens when that money dries up?

One of the saddest times in my life was when my father had to close Sunmount VA hospital. See possibility that the DDSO home there may close - it's a state agency. The only saving grace is the forensic units that could easily be transferred elsewhere.

"Tupper Lake wouldn't survive without that."

I really resent being told what I can and what I can't do on my land. (applause)

There do have to be reasonable development guidelines.

I think the entire APA act needs to be revisited and rewritten. (applause)

I hear musings of that happening by the state Legislature when I'm in Albany (live there several months of the year).

I totally support Foxman and Lawson. The bureaucracy involved in this project and others is absolutely ridiculous.
