Wearing or being green
To the editor:
Wearing green is about pride in being Irish. Being green is about land use. Teenagers are becoming green because they’re worried about Earth.
It’s not wise to build on shorelines that are likely to flood. The old Dew Drop Inn, whose porch used to flood in the spring, would make a nice part of the River Walk. The Lake Flower Resort property would make a nice green space along the lake.
Why use all our state grants on new building? Why not use some of the money on the greening of our shorelines? It would make Saranac Lake an even nicer place to visit and live.
