Mallach, not Mulverhill

To the editor:

I’m supporting Jordanna Mallach for Franklin County sheriff.

Simply put, our current county sheriff Kevin Mulverhill has abused his powers of office. I said this two years ago when Sheriff Mulverhill wanted to leave his position as county sheriff and ran for the Assembly. We all knew then, as we do now, that the targeting of county legislators by him was an abuse of his powers as sheriff.

Can anyone tell me when Franklin County began a highway patrol? Never! So, how’d it happen that some legislators were ticketed by deputy county sheriffs? I’ve never heard of such a thing. I’ve no doubt that this action was carried out under the direction of Sheriff Mulverhill. Why? Because he was mad at the legislators over their budget decisions.

I was a good friend to former sheriffs Percy Lyons, Mel Nemier and Jack Pelkey, all Republicans whom I voted for. Believe me, they would never have done what Mr. Mulverhill did and abuse their powers of office!

In 2016 I supported Billy Jones over Kevin Mulverhill for Assembly because he is not the type of person I or any of us should want to represent us.

Jordanna Mallach has the character needed to be our county sheriff, not only because she’s a combat veteran and Bronze Star recipient but because she is someone who spends every working day helping our North Country veterans who are our neighbors.

In Jordanna Mallach we’ve got a lady who will work with our county’s legislature, on behalf of us taxpayers, who has the necessary character that it takes to be our county sheriff.

There’s absolutely no qualification for county sheriff that says you must be a former law enforcement officer. Our county sheriff for the most part is a jailer and administrator. Jordanna Mallach can do both duties exceedingly well on our behalf.

Remember two years ago that Sheriff Mulverhill no longer wanted to be our sheriff, so let us give him what he wanted. Elect Jordanna Mallach Franklin County sheriff on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 6.

Respectfully,

Dean D. Lefebvre
