Joy to the Children gives thanks

To the editor:

On behalf of the Board of Directors and staff of the Lake Placid Center for the Arts, I would like to send a heartfelt thank you to Ed and Lisa Weibrecht, the staff of the Mirror Lake Inn & Spa, local businesses, and everyone who either came or donated to make Joy to the children a success. The evening raised over $125,000, the net proceeds of which help support year-round children’s programming at the LPCA.

The evening would not be possible without the generous contribution of Ed & Lisa Weibrecht and the entire staff of the Mirror Lake Inn which provided a dazzling holiday night for more than 525 people.

The LPCA offers year-round arts education programs for children from around the region. These programs include the free Young & Fun Summer Performance, the Weibrecht AfterSchool Workshops, the School Day Matinee Series for schoolkids and homeschoolers throughout the region, and the Lake Placid School of Ballet and Dance.

Thanks also go to honorary co-chairs, Bernard and Karen Dayan as well as the generous businesses and individuals who helped sponsor the event, to those who donated items for the silent auction, to the many volunteers who helped make, gather, and display auction items, and to all the people who bought tickets and auction items.

Thank you Weibrechts for your leadership in helping to establish and maintain this unique and important resource for the families in our region. You bring joy to our lives.

Sincerely,

Jill Beier

President,

LPCA Board of Directors
