An offensive remark
Seventeen people, most of them children, died in a school massacre last week — and U.S. Rep. Claudia Tenney, R-N.Y., apparently thinks that is a good opportunity to take a political jab.
Tenney, from New Hartford near Utica, got wound up about protecting gun rights during a interview Wednesday with Fred Dicker on Albany radio station WGDJ, and she ended up saying this: “It’s interesting that so many of these people that commit mass murders end up being Democrats, but the media doesn’t talk about that, either.”
No, we don’t. Absent some scientific evidence the subject is relevant — and we have seen none — we aren’t going to, either.
Tenney should be ashamed of herself. The apology she owes may be beyond her ability to make.
One wonders, incidentally, whether she has checked the political affiliations of victims of mass killings.
Oh, sorry. That won’t be possible. Too many of them were children not old enough to vote.
