Robert W. ‘Bob’ Winderl

Robert W. “Bob” Winderl, 86, of Saranac Lake, died Monday, Dec. 10, 2018, at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.

He was the son of Matthew and Argenta (Teirney) Winderl.

Robert was a lifelong resident of Saranac Lake and was a mason by trade, employed by JJ O’Connell and Branch and Callanan. Later he was a caretaker at a private camp in Saranac Lake. Bob loved his faith and family especially his dogs past and present “Buffer, Bubba, Uni and Zeus.

He is survived by four daughters: Barbara (Peter) Winderl of Saranac Lake, Kathy (John) Parker of Manlius, Robyn Fisher of Ciaro, and Debbie Destefanis of Altamont; one brother, Frederick (Sandra) Winderl of Saranac Lake; and nine grandchildren: Amanda Winderl (Ricky Spinner), Adam Winderl (Takara Thompson) both of Saranac Lake, Jessica (Brian) Still of North Carolina, Eliza (Matt) Walter of Rochester, Justin and Jonathan Parker of Manlius, and Kyle and Devon Fisher of Colorado. Bob also had many great grandchildren: Anna Marie, Kane Thompson and Kaydance Winderl all of Saranac Lake, Adaline Still, Levi and Jack Walter and Oliver Fisher.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, and infant son Kevin, his brothers Matthew Jr., and Martin (LaVaughn) Winderl.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, with a funeral service immediately following at the funeral home with the Rev. Paul Kelly officiating. Burial will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family in St. Bernard’s Cemetery in Saranac Lake.
