Socorro Lacey

Socorro Lacey was reunited with The Lord on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2018.

She was born April 10, 1963 in Murcia, Negros Occidental Philippines to Adelina and Willie Dumancas. Socorro came to America in 1983 and married Wayne Lacey Jan. 14, 1984 in Lake Clear.

She loved the Adirondacks and enjoyed hunting and fishing with her husband.

Soccoro was very passionate about Jesus and led several of her family and friends to know Him. While living in Lake Clear, she and her husband were very active members of the Saranac Lake Baptist Church. Wayne and Socorro also made a home in Orlando, Florida where they continued to go during the winter months until Wayne was no longer able to travel. In Orlando, they became members of the Osceola Bible Church. Socorro was known to open her home for bible studies and worship. She and her husband were instrumental in supporting the construction of the Compassion Global Church which was the first of its kind in Pangasinan Philippines.

Socorro is survived by her husband Wayne of Orlando Florida, her father Willie Dumancas of Orlando, her siblings Tito of the Philippines, Jesse of Jacksonville Florida and Evangeline of Lake Clear, several nieces, nephews and cousins both in the U.S. and the Philippines.

She was predeceased by her mother Adelina and her mother and father in-law Jim and Thetis Barrow.

A funeral service will take place at the Osceola Bible Church in Florida. A local service will take place at the Saranac Lake Baptist Church at noon Friday, Oct. 26 with the Rev. Harold Clark officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Lake Clear.
