Maria Giokas Aivaliotis
Maria Giokas Aivaliotis, 81, passed away on March 31, 2018. She was the wife of John Aivaliotis. They shared 53 years of marriage together.
Born in Greece, she was the daughter of Aikaterini and Emil Giokas. She attended Lake Placid High School and graduated from Becker College and worked at the Lake Placid bank for years before moving to North Plainfield, New Jersey, and residing there for 50 years. She was a longtime employee of Toys R Us before retiring to enjoy her family.
A true American patriot, she enjoyed baseball, the Yankees, westerns, horses (collected statues) and eagles. Her favorite colors were red, white and blue. She loved her family and her hometown of Lake Placid.
She is survived by her spouse John Aivaliotis; daughter Elena Tsatsaros and spouse Stamatis Tsatsaros; son Stacey Aivalitios and spouse Heather Aivaliotis; grandchildren Nicholas, John and Dimitris Tsatsaros, and Viktoria and Ioannis Aivaliotis; brother John Giokas; nieces Kathie Giokas-Marshall and Anthula Giokas; grandnephew Kyle Marshall, grandnieces Jade Giokas, Faith Giokas and Sydney Marshall; and great-grandnephew Logan Stephen-John Zavattaro. She is predeceased by her father Emil Giokas, mother Aikaterini Giokas and brother Gus Giokas.
