Thomas J. Fiumara
Thomas John Fiumara, 82, of Lake Placid, formerly of Fulton and Queensbury, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017, from Progressive Supranuclear Palsy.
Born in Fulton on June 20, 1935, he was the son of the late John and Anna Fiumara. Tom was married to JoAnne Fratello on May 15, 1965 in Fulton. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1957 with a B.S. degree in Commerce. He was employed by the New York State Department of Labor for 32 years until his retirement in 1999. Upon retiring, he worked for H&R Block.
He enjoyed golfing, fishing, gardening, bowling, and was an avid sports fan — his favorite teams were his Alma Mater Notre Dame and the New York Yankees. He was a long-time member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren.
Tom is survived by his wife JoAnne of Lake Placid; their daughters Anne Marie O’Neill (John) of Huntersville, North Carolina and Lisa Wint (Randy) of Lake Placid; and three grandchildren: Kayla and Marissa O’Neill and Jonathan Wint. He was also survived by his sisters Mary Pappalardo (Ross) of Fulton and Joanne Piazza (Don) of Oswego; his brother-in-law Thomas Fratello (Barbara) of Fulton; and 10 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister Nicolina Verdi (Angelo) of Fulton.
Funeral arrangements are in care of M. B. Clark Inc., Funeral Home in Lake Placid. Calling hours will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10 at the M. B. Clark Inc., Funeral Home in Lake Placid. A Mass of Christian burial will be held in the Reiss Memorial Chapel at Elderwood of Uhlein at noon Saturday, Nov. 11.
