Theodore ‘Ted’ E. Bowler

Theodore “Ted” E. Bowler, 87, of Gloversville, passed on Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2017, at Mountain Valley Hospice in Gloversville. He was born in Tribes Hill and was the son of the late Edgar and Laura (Putnam) Bowler.

Ted had owned and operated “Bowlers T.V. and Appliances,” operated a welding business and retired from Brenton Industries in Amsterdam, New York, in 1989.

He was a lifetime member of the Fish and Game Club of Tribes Hill. He was also a lifetime member of the Concordia Club in Gloversville, serving on the Board of Govenors. He was instrumental in building the pavilion and various club projects. Ted generously shared his talent for design and construction with his family and friends.

Ted is survived by Jean (Holmes) Bowler, his wife of 54 years; a daughter, Kim Bowler (George Ciezkowski) of Duanesburg; daughter, Chris (Klaus) Scnheider of Wrentham, Massachusetts; a son, Ronald (Kathleen) Bowler of Saranac Lake; and a daughter, Sheri Bowler of Gloversville; his beloved grandchildren Max and Amelia Schneider of Wrentham, Massachusetts, Cody Bowler of Duanesburg, Gregory Bowler and Julie (Michael) Baird of Saranac Lake and Oakville, Ontario; his sister Shirley Snyder of Fort Johnson; sisters-in-law Edna Bowler of Tribes Hill, Marilyn (Robert) Holland of Gloversville and Doris Waters of Mountain Lake.

Ted was predeceased by his brother Eugene Bowler and brother-in-law Robert Snyder.

A special “thank you” to his niece Mrs. Claudia and her husband Earl Stewart, his nephew Robert, as well as his wife Eileen Hill and his daughters Kim Bowler and Sheri Bowler for all the help and support during his illness.

The family wishes to invite relatives and friends to attend a visitation period on Sunday, Nov. 19 from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Chapel of Ehle and Barnett FFH LLC, 15 N. William St., Johnstown, NY 12095, with a memorial service to follow.
