Robert Tomlinson, 59, of Ray Brook, died Monday, Nov. 13, 2017.
Born in Massena on Feb. 13, 1958, Robert was the son of John and Ann E. (Penniston) Tomlinson.
Robert was well liked by his housemates and peers in the seniors program. He loved everyone and was loved by everyone he came in contact with. He actively participated with the seniors volunteer programs shoe drive, park beautification and he especially enjoyed helping with Meals on Wheels. Robert was an avid sports fan of the Montreal Canadians hockey team.
He was often caught adding humorous anecdotes/aspect to the conversation. Robert especially enjoyed reading Sports Illustrated, using his photographic memory to engage family and friends in friendly banter about sports trivia.
Robert is survived by two brothers: Peter (Kathy Jacobson) Tomlinson of Minetto and John (Joanna) Tomlinson of Skaneateles; a sister Karen Hanson of Saranac Lake; and five nieces and nephews: Peter Shane Tomlinson of Oswego, Jacob Tomlinson of Washington, D.C., Sarah and Alexandra Tomlinson of Skaneateles and Nick Hanson of Saranac Lake.
Robert was preceded in death by both his father and mother.
Calling hours will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16 at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A funeral service will immediately follow at the funeral home at 1 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. Patrick Ratigan officiating. Burial will follow in the Harrietstown Cemetery in Saranac Lake.
