Patrick M. Carroll

Patrick M. Carroll passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving and devoted wife Sue and other family members on Thursday, Feb. 16, 2017, due to a brain tumor.

He was born July 1, 1953, in Ogdensburg, the son of James W. and Alice E. (Durham) Carroll.

Pat graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy and SUNY Plattsburgh in 1975. Pat married the love of his life, Susan Corson, on June 24, 1978, at St. Bernard’s Church in Saranac Lake. Pat was a labor service representative with the New York State Department of Labor, retiring after 33 years of service.

Pat enjoyed his years of refereeing for CVAC football and volleyball. He was a lifelong New York Giants and Yankees fan as well as a huge fan of Notre Dame football. Pat loved reading and watching classic films as well as walks in nature with Sue.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Sue; his daughter Katie; his son Sean (partner Cher Kirby); grandchildren Jacob and Lucas Villena; his brothers John “Jack” (Linda) Carroll of Florida and Ogdensburg, and Daniel (Amy) Carroll of West Virginia; sister Elizabeth (Gary) Butterfield of Hannawa Falls; and sister-in-law Nancy Carroll.

Pat was predeceased by his parents and by his brother James.

A celebration of Pat’s life will be held at the Valcour Conference Center from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26.
