SARANAC LAKE – Esther Rogers Baker returns to Lake Flower Landing to present “Bach’s Cello Suite No. 2” in a series called “Bach Around Town.”

This monthly series will include future dates at BluSeed Studios, Harrietstown Town Hall, Earthshine Yoga, Elizabethtown Social Center, Tupper Arts Center, and Historic Saranac Lake’s John Black Room.

For each concert the solo cello pieces will be paired with another unaccompanied performer, this one with soprano vocalist, Katherine Mongulla. This performance will also feature duets. Bach’s six “Cello Suites” are some of the most frequently performed and recognizable solo compositions ever written for cello. Bach most likely composed them during the period 1717-23, making this roughly a 300-year celebration of their conception.

Lake Flower Landing is a dedicated event space and the studios of Karen Davidson and Peter Seward, located in Saranac Lake at 421 Lake Flower Ave.

The venue is handicapped accessible.

Admission is a suggested donation of $10 or free for children and students.
