20th annual Juried Art Competition at Artists Guild

SARANAC LAKE — Celebrating its 20th anniversary, the Adirondack Artists Guild will hold its annual juried art show from March 23 through April 21.

The competition is open to all living artists eighteen years of age and older. All media are acceptable. Work must be suitably framed and wired for hanging.

Artwork should be hand delivered to the Adirondack Artists Guild between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. on March 15, 16 or 17. Notification of acceptance will be on March 19 and 20, and the opening reception will be on Friday, March 23 from 5 to 7 p.m., with awards announced at 6 p.m.

This year’s juror is Zack Lobdell, a painter and gallery owner in Saratoga Springs. His interest in creating images began at an early age and has continued throughout his life. He attended the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and has been influenced by the works of M.C. Escher, Eric Aho and Gerhardt Richter.

He has shown and sold his work in New York City, Denver, Miami Beach and Boston, as well as at many local exhibitions in the Saratoga area. Along with noted furniture designer Peter Harrison, Lobdell recently opened the Harrison-Lobdell Gallery in Saratoga Springs, where he maintains his working studio.

For further information on the show, artists may download a prospectus from the Guild’s website, adirondackartistsguild.com, or pick one up at the gallery.
