Lake Placid Middle-High School announces December shows

LAKE PLACID – The Lake Placid Middle-High School Music Department announces a series of performances this December.

The High School Chorus will perform at the Tree Lighting Ceremony at the Whiteface Lodge on Thursday, Nov. 30 at 5:30 p.m. The public is invited to celebrate the holiday season and greet Santa.

The Middle School Winter Concert will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3 in the Lake Placid High School Auditorium. The community is invited to an evening of seasonal music featuring the Band, under the direction of Emileigh Kukuvka, and the NYSSMA Gold-Medal-winning Middle School Chorus, under the direction of Kimberly Weems, and accompanied by Kathy Cross.

On Saturday, Dec. 9, the Middle School Chorus will perform at the Village Tree Lighting at Mid’s Park at 5 p.m. Locals and tourists alike are invited to come and celebrate the lighting of the Yule Log and celebrate the Holiday Stroll.

The high school department will present a Winter Concert on Wednesday, Dec. 13 at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium.

The community is invited to attend and enjoy performances by the High School Chorus, Women’s Ensemble, Concert Band, and Jazz Band.

The High School Chorus will co-host and participate in the Annual Tri-Lakes Messiah Sing at the Adirondack Community Church on Friday, Dec. 15 at 6:30 p.m.

Come prepared to participate in the Chorus, or to just enjoy the annual tradition of Handel’s masterwork, featuring soloists Alana Winchell, soprano; Valerie Abrahms-Rogers, mezzo-soprano; Kimberly Weems, soprano; Christopher Gould, tenor; and George Cordes, bass.
