SARANAC LAKE – Adirondack Shakespeare Co. is back at Pendragon Theatre this weekend with two Shakespeare greats: “Love’s Labour’s Lost” at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30 and “Hamlet” at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 1.

Adirondack Shakepeare Co. is known for its unburdened approach to the Bard’s work. With no set and minimal costumes and props, the troupe focuses on the raw story and the only things necessary to tell it: the actors, the audience, and the words. According to ADK Shakespeare’s Artistic Director, Tara Bradway, both shows will appeal to all ages. “We strongly encourage families to attend live Shakespeare — see and hear the plays as they were meant to be enjoyed! There’s no need to ‘study up’ ahead of the show. Just come ready to listen, imagine, and have a great time.” Ms. Bradway will be playing the title role in Hamlet.

“Love’s Labour’s Lost” is is packed with clowns, pranks, and pageants, Shakespeare’s delightful “feast of languages” explores the enduring trials of friendship, courtship, and love. Hamlet, Shakespeare’s epic masterpiece crackles with the intensity, humor, and majesty of the finest tragedy in the English language. Live music begins 10 minutes prior to both performances.
