Pendragon’s Winter Play Readings return

SARANAC LAKE – Pendragon Theater brings the silver screen to the stage with a reading of “All About Eve,” by Joseph Mankiewicz, at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 5.

Praised by critics at the time of its release in 1950, “All About Eve” received 14 Academy Awards nominations (a feat unmatched until the 1997 film “Titanic”) and won six, including Best Picture.

“All About Eve” is the only film in Oscar history to receive four female acting nominations (Bette Davis and Anne Baxter as Best Actress, Celeste Holm and Thelma Ritter as Best Supporting Actress).

Reading the play are some favorite Pendragon regulars including Olivia Zeis, Josie Good, Fran Yardley, Allison Studdiford, Leslie Dame, Lucky Cerruti, Kent Streed, Burdette Parks, Jason Brill and Harrison Ewing.

Pendragon’s Winter Play Reading Series will continue Sunday, March 25 with the reading of “The Entertainer” by John Osborne and Sunday, April 30 with David Mamet’s “A Life in the Theatre.”
