Arts center will honor Ed and Lisa Weibrecht at Summer Gala

LAKE PLACID – To recognize Ed and Lisa Weibrecht’s many years of vision and dedication to the organization, the Lake Placid Center for the Arts recently announced it will present them with the LPCA Spotlight Award at the 2015 Summer Gala on Thursday, July 30 at the Conference Center at Lake Placid.

About the Weibrechts

Ed and Lisa Weibrecht have been part of the Lake Placid community for more than 40 years. As owners of the Mirror Lake Inn, they have been involved with day-to-day operations of the AAA Four Diamond Award-winning resort since 1976. They are also the parents to five children, including two-time Olympic medalist skier Andrew.

The Weibrechts have been ardent supporters of the LPCA’s efforts for almost 30 years. As the full sponsor of the annual Joy to the Children Benefit, they have been directly responsible for the robust arts education programs available to the Lake Placid community. Throughout the Weibrechts’ involvement, Joy to the Children has raised over $2 million, which has enabled the LPCA to teach more than 38,000 North Country children the value of the arts through programs like the School Day Matinee Series, a weekday performance series designed to introduce students of all ages to the performing arts, and the AfterSchool Workshop Series which provides parents with a convenient way to grow their children’s artistic interests in a hands-on environment.
