Celebrating Lake Placid Volunteer Fire Department’s 110 years

LAKE PLACID – A reception and fundraiser for “The Lake Placid Volunteer Fire Department – 110 years of Service and Dedication” exhibit will be held at The History Museum at 242 Station St. from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 18.

Historical Society members and the general public will have the opportunity to meet the curator, mingle with members of the Lake Placid Fire Department, and view this all new exhibit which documents the history of firefighting in Lake Placid. The Lake Placid Fire Department aerial ladder truck will be on site for the evening.

The donation for this event will be $20 per person, payable at the door. Reservations are appreciated and can be made by calling Director Jennifer Tufano at 518-523-3830 or emailing thehistorymuseum@verizon.net.

The curator for the exhibit is Museum Committee Chair Parmelee Tolkan.

The exhibit will be on display for the 2015 and 2016 seasons at The History Museum in Lake Placid’s historic train station.

The History Museum is open Wednesday through Sunday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and all exhibits are free and open to the public.
