MALONE — Titus Mountain Family Ski Center will be open for skiing and snowboarding this Friday, starting at 10 a.m.

The Nov. 23 opening marks Titus’ second earliest opening date ever, surpassed only in 2014, when it opened on Nov. 22.

Titus plans to be open Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., weather permitting. Tickets will cost $20.

“It’s a sign of great things to come,” Zach White, general manager at Titus, said in a press release. “Mother Nature seems like she is going to be good to us this year. And if she isn’t, our upgraded snowmaking will make sure we have a great season.”

Titus Mountain purchased 16 new Super Polecat snowmaking guns earlier this summer for the 2018-19 ski season, an investment of over half a million dollars.

“The wonders of modern snowmaking is quite something,” White said. “Our snowmaking system services 76 percent of our terrain. Once we get this weekend under our belts, our snowmakers will be out in full force to ensure an early and long season.”

Conditions will be available for opening weekend each morning by visiting their website, www.TitusMountain.com. Season passes are still on sale and can be purchased online or in person and have no blackout dates, including the opening day. Continued hours of operation and opening days can be found online.

Titus Mountain, located about 6 miles south of Malone, is owned and operated by the Monette family of Malone. It has three interconnected mountains, two lodges, three dining areas, rentals, ski and board tuning, an IBC ski store and 50 trails, glades and features.
