Town of Keene
On Saturday, Feb. 24, state Department of Environmental Conservation dispatch in Ray Brook received a call for assistance for a man who suffered a lower leg injury while descending Lower Wolf Jaw Mountain in the High Peaks.
Bill O’Connor, caretaker of the Adirondack Mountain Reserve (AMR), notified DEC of the man’ injury and requested assistance. Forest Ranger Daniel Fox responded and used an ATV stationed at AMR and located the man at 6:15 p.m. After assessment, Fox transported the man on the ATV and then helped him to his vehicle. The man said he would seek medical attention on his own.
