Jones visits Tupper Lake, continues district tour
TUPPER LAKE — State Assemblyman Billy Jones continued a district-wide tour Tuesday with a stop in Tupper Lake.
Jones, D-Chateaugay, visited local businesses and met with local officials and residents during his time in the town and village, according to a press release.
The day started with a coffee hour in the Tupper Lake Town Hall, hosted by town Supervisor Patricia Littlefield. Jones then held a meet and greet at the village offices and took a tour of the village. Later he met with members of the Tupper Lake Volunteer Fire Department, and the day concluded with a meet and greet with local veterans at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3120.
“As your voice in Albany, it’s my job to make the North Country stronger,” Jones said in the release. “I’m certainly interested in the issues that Tupper Lake residents and small businesses face. That is why I am here to listen, take notes and bring home the results that Tupper Lake and all the communities of the 115th District deserve.”
This was the second day of Jones’ district-wide tour. It kicked off Monday with several stops in the town of Champlain.
Jones travels to Hopkinton today where he’ll visit the local library and meet with constituents. The tour continues with stops in AuSable on Thursday and Fort Covington on Friday. Residents are encouraged to join Jones to discuss community issues at one of the stops on his tour.
The 115th Assembly District includes all of Clinton and Franklin counties, as well as the towns of Brasher, Lawrence, Piercefield and Hopkinton in St. Lawrence County.
