Celebrating nonviolence

Saranac Lake-based band Crowfeather performs at a Martin Luther King Jr. Coffeehouse Saturday night at the First Presbyterian Church of Saranac Lake. Two Native American activists spoke at the event: Birk Albert, an Alaskan native who has attended school in Lake Placid, and Brayden Sonny White of the St. Regis Mohawk Bear Clan in Akwesasne. The Rev. Paul Kelly, Kelly Metzgar and Eleanor Crowley (not pictured) took turns reading a 1957 sermon by King on loving one’s enemies. Lisa Meissner and the Rev. Joanne White of the Presbyterian church hosted the event. (Enterprise photo — Peter Crowley)
