Baseball team receives uniform donation
SARANAC LAKE — A former athlete of the central school district is donating new uniforms to the school’s baseball team, head coach Mark Farmer said.
The former student, who did not play baseball, will donate two complete sets of uniforms, home and road, as well as alternate practice jerseys totaling $10,188, Farmer said at Wednesday’s school board meeting.
Majestic, the supplier to Major League Baseball, will produce the uniforms, which the school expects to have made by mid-winter.
“In these financially constraining times, that’s a big boost for us,” Farmer said. “I wish I could tell you his name, but he’s asked to remain anonymous.”
