Robert Beier, Daniel Kelleher, Matthew Norfolk and Peter Van Etten recently joined the board, and Russell Cronin began his first full term on the board after joining mid-2017.

“With about half a million dollars to raise to reach our $12 million Future of Care Campaign goal, we are grateful Russ, Peter, Matt, Dan and Bob have agreed to serve on the board at this critical juncture,” said Hannah Hanford, the Adirondack Health Foundation’s executive director. “The Foundation raises funds to support Adirondack Health, and new fundraising challenges are on the horizon as a Master Facility Plan is finalized and new programs come online to enhance patient and resident care. We are grateful for the insight and experience our new trustees bring to the boardroom.”

Bob Beier worked for 35 years at American International Group, an insurance corporation with 56,000 employees and operations in more than 90 countries and jurisdictions. For the last 10 years of his career, Beier held various positions within the company’s sales and marketing department. He retired in 2015 as AIG’s executive vice president for global commercial insurance sales. A graduate of St. John’s University, Beier and his wife, Jill, were frequent visitors to the Adirondacks before moving to Lake Placid in 2015.

Dan Kelleher brings both public and private sector experience to the board. He currently serves as special assistant for economic affairs at the Adirondack Park Agency, and he is the co-founder and chief financial officer of Create Orthotics and Prosthetics, a medical technology company that produces 3D printers, filament blends, and product designs for the orthotic and prosthetic industry. Kelleher is a graduate of SUNY Plattsburgh and Cornell University and has been a full-time resident of the Tri-Lakes for six years.

Daniel Kelleher

Co-founder and managing partner of Briggs Norfolk LLP, Matt Norfolk has practiced law for nearly 20 years, and in the Adirondacks for the last 16 years. Norfolk specializes in litigation involving commercial and real estate disputes, zoning/environmental regulatory issues and contract negotiations. He also handles mergers and acquisitions for regional business entities and regularly defends and prosecutes civil actions in state and federal court. Norfolk also serves as president of the Lake Placid Olympic Museum’s board of trustees. He is a graduate of Cornell University and St. John’s University School of Law.

Peter Van Etten is the operations manager at Hyde Fuel in Saranac Lake, and also a licensed investment advisor who has owned and operated a financial services business, Primerica Financial Services, since 2003. Van Etten previously worked as the Southern Tier manager for Heritagenergy Inc., overseeing sales, inventory, delivery, service dispatch, inspection, recruiting and hiring. The company delivers approximately 6 million gallons of fuel oil and 3 million gallons of propane each year to customers in and around Sullivan County. Van Etten relocated to the Tri-Lakes last year with his wife, Tiffany, and two children, Cole and Keely. He is a graduate of Ithaca College.

Russ Cronin joined the Adirondack Health Foundation board last summer. He begins his first full term on the board this year and serves as board treasurer. A resident of Tupper Lake, Cronin works as the chief financial officer and treasurer for the Adirondack Foundation, based in Lake Placid. He is also co-owner of The Well Dressed Food Company, a specialty food store/deli/caterer located in Tupper Lake; board secretary of ARISE of Northern New York; and a member of Adirondack Health’s ethics committee. Cronin is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University and a certified public accountant.
